Developments in technology have made point of care ultrasound (POCUS) available and practical for use by general practitioners as a diagnostic tool.
There are two remaining spots on the Hamilton point of care ultrasound (POCUS) programme workshop on 14 and 15 August. If your practice is interested please contact Libby on the details below.
If you would like to express interest to attend a future training workshop, please also let Libby know.
The use of ultrasonography is very operator-dependent and requires appropriate training and quality assurance to provide quality care and improved diagnostic capability. Pinnacle has fostered a relationship with Ultrasound Imaging Education (contracted educators to the University of Otago) to deliver educational workshops to our network.
Please note, you will also need a compatible smart phone or tablet to use the Butterfly iQ device. All prices mentioned are excluding GST.
POCUS has become an affordable alternative; especially in a rapidly evolving general practice environment where increasing demands require increasingly effective and comprehensive clinical care.
Ultrasound has now been successfully utilised in 28 regional rural practices.
