Diabetes New Zealand and Pinnacle are pleased to introduce Matire Ropiha as Diabetes Community Coordinator/Hauora Kaimahi for the Taranaki locality.
Matire, from Rongomaiwahine, Ngāti Kahungunu, Te Atiawa and Ngāti Haumia, brings a wealth of advocacy skills and experience to the role. She feels that, above all, what she offers is lived experience of type 2 diabetes.
The service includes the coordination of education, psychosocial support, social connection, and self-management for patients with diabetes and their family/whānau. This is a FREE service and is offered in multiple settings including the patient’s home throughout Taranaki. To refer your patients to this service, please select Diabetes New Zealand on eReferral.
