Family Works has been awarded one of the new Ministry of Education 'Counselling Support in Schools' contracts.
Their programme, Korero Manaaki, will have a range of specialist practitioners who will work with students, whānau, hapu and iwi to deliver counselling support that fits within the school context.
Schools across the country have noticed increased anxiety among students surrounding attending school, friendship issues, anger in the classroom and playground, and bullying, which often results in akonga/disengaging with learning.
Family Works Central is delighted to be working with identified schools across Taranaki as part of the Korero Manaaki programme. Their team of practitioners have the capability and experience to deliver counselling support to primary, intermediate and secondary students.
