Student nurses undertaking the new Bachelor of Nursing course at the University of Waikato are still seeking placements.
These placements will be their first clinical placement and the students will be in the practice three days per week for nine weeks from the end of April.
A small fee per day is paid for the student placement.
Students can be involved in shadowing registered nurses and can perform a number of tasks under supervision.
Giving these students experience means they will build their skills and expertise in primary care and are more likely to enter the primary care workforce on graduation, which has been Pinnacle's aim in assisting with the development of this course.
Thank you to the practices who have already agreed to take a student, you are leading the way!
