Do you have an idea you’re passionate about or a burning desire to take a thought you’ve had, work it through and achieve practical outcomes?
2021 applications close Friday 27 August - application form linked below.
As part of our commitment to supporting professional development and service improvement within the network, Pinnacle offers a $10k annual scholarship to award to a nurse with ideas to improve equity or access issues in primary care.
The scholarships are open to any nurse employed in a Pinnacle practice or by Pinnacle Midlands Health Network. We are looking for people with a clear goal in mind, ideas about how to get there, and how its success can be measured.
Applicants must have the support of their manager or practice owner, and be able to describe how the scholarship money will be used to improve access and equity. The successful recipients will receive coaching and support to ensure their initiative succeeds, and will be expected to commit to sharing their knowledge and supporting others in their learning.
The funding could be used in a variety of ways – for travel to visit and learn from others in an area of excellence; to connect with hard to reach experts; cover the costs of time away from the practice; or otherwise remove roadblocks that stand in the way of pursuing a great idea. The funding is not intended to support research or formal academic study.
“Our nursing strategy is about creating opportunities and giving nurses support they may not have had access to before. We’re investing in our nurses because we know nurses, especially rural, will play a bigger part in service delivery as time goes on,” Jan Adams, Pinnacle nursing director.
