Tama Blaiklock joins Pinnacle Incorporated executive committee

Pinnacle Incorporated | 14/12/2023

We are excited to announce that following your nomination and votes, Dr Tamatoa Blaiklock from Hamilton East Medical Centre, has accepted a position on the Pinnacle Incorporated executive committee starting February 2024.

"I have a passion to serve our Pasifika and Māori communities. It is my vision to effect systemic changes in the heath sector for Pasifika and to see our communities healthy and thriving. As a practice owner I have a deep understanding of the current challenges facing general practice. This is a key time for our PHO to be strategic in our advocacy for primary care. I have four years of governance experience in various boards. My most recent role being deputy chair of Anglesea Charitable Trust. I believe this has provided me with the right skill mix to represent you and our patients in the boardroom."

We are looking forward to welcoming Tamatoa and having his honest and passionate voice at the table – advocating with us on your behalf.

Following her term end, we farewell Dr Fiona Loan, who has represented you since 2018. Fiona has a key passion for skin cancer medicine and surgery and spends much of her time in Dunedin, as well as Mahoe Medical Centre. She has been a thoughtful and caring advocator during her time on the executive and has grown in her governance career while managing a young family. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Fiona and will hopefully see her back on the executive committee again.

Wishing you all a safe and happy Kirihimete (Christmas).

Ngā mihi,

Craig McFarlane

Independent Chair
