Te Whatu Ora update on current measles situation

Measles update: Wairarapa outbreak increases to 8 cases with one case in the Manawatu region

Further to the public health advisory issued on 9 July 2025, NPHS is advising clinicians that there are now 8 cases linked to the Wairarapa measles outbreak. This includes one new case based in the Manawatu. The new cases are all known close contacts of the index case.

Pathlab update: patients with suspected or symptomatic measles

If a patient with possible measles presents to your practice, please complete the testing on-site in accordance with current guidelines, and notify the Ministry of Health of any suspected cases.
