Reputable researchers from Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington are conducting research to explore the assisted dying service and seeking patient voice in the understanding around assisted dying services in Aotearoa.
Te Herenga Waka's study provides an opportunity for patients to have their voices heard on this important end-of-life option.
They would like to hear from people who:
People from many diverse communities, like people living with an impairment, disability, or are Deaf, are invited to participate so it can be understood how the service can meet these communities' requirements.
Te Herenga Waka would like to interview people over Zoom or phone. All information is confidential.

The ethical aspects of this study have been approved by an independent group of people called the Health and Disability Ethics Committee (HDEC). It checks that studies meet ethical standards. The Northern A Health and Disability Ethics Committee has approved this study through the full review pathway [ref 2023 EXP 18493].
