Te Whatu Ora has released the second story in its childhood immunisation series. Tane's Story follows Manukaroa's Story, launched in October 2025, which was widely shared and sparked meaningful discussion across the health sector and communities.
Like its predecessor, Tane's Story uses lived experience and storytelling to connect with parents and caregivers in a way that is empathetic and respectful — continuing a kaupapa grounded in meeting whānau where they are.
Te Whatu Ora is encouraging health sector partners to view the story and share it widely through their networks, social media, and newsletters. A campaign guide with guidance on how to share the content is available, along with a Dropbox folder of ready-to-use resources.
A pilot collaboration has highlighted the power of working together to provide more responsive services that better engage families around childhood vaccination.
