New online course promotes supportive teams and interprofessional practice

Tairāwhiti | Lakes | Taranaki | Waikato | Clinical | Management | 01/07/2026

A new free online short course is available to help health professionals support new staff, graduates and students as they settle into their roles.

Tuakana-Teina: He Ara Kitea, He Ara Ora – Making the way clear, supporting new staff to thrive has been developed by Te Whatu Ora’s workforce team in partnership with Hauora Māori Services. It is suitable for both clinical and non-clinical staff working across primary, community and rural health settings.

The free course explores practical ways to support new team members, strengthen interprofessional collaboration and help create positive workplace experiences for people entering the health workforce.

The course is available through both Ko Awatea Learn and Health Learn.

Access the course through your preferred learning platform.
