NZSSD webinars 2026

New Zealand Society for the Study of Diabetes (NZSSD) is hosting a series of webinars for the benefit of primary care. The next session will focus on Continuous glucose monitoring in primary care on 1 April, 6-8pm (date was originally 18 March) and hosted by the Technology in Diabetes SIG.

This session will present an overview of CGM, including a review of CGM available in NZ and their application as a management tool for type 2 diabetes.

Register here by 10pm, Tuesday 31 March, 2026.

Note: if you registered for 18 March, you do not need to re-register for 1 April.

General webinar information

  • Cost: Free for NZSSD members (you must still register for the webinar). Annual membership is $80 for allied health and nursing and $150 for physicians – this will also entitle you to access member only benefits.
  • Seminar presentation: A Zoom Webinar link will be emailed to registrants. The webinar will be available on the NZSSD member website AFTER the webinar has occurred.
  • Study session and membership queries: Secretary@nzssd.org.nz

Pharmac removes Special Authority renewals for selected medicines

From 1 December 2025, Pharmac will remove Special Authority renewal requirements for several treatments, including insulin pump consumables, continuous glucose monitors, LAMA/LABA inhalers, epoetin alfa, budesonide capsules, and febuxostat.
