Dr Anna Nichols, Te Whatu Ora's public dermatologist, will be leaving her position in July to return to the United States. Though she has been in Taranaki for a short time, Anna has contributed significantly to the department and the Taranaki community as a whole.
For the months of July, August and September there will be no public dermatologist in Taranaki. This may cause longer than usual wait times.
Please continue to refer via the usual pathways, with particular attention to using the High Suspicion of Cancer pathway for appropriate patients.
Please also carefully consider with your patient whether they would prefer a private option given expected wait times.
