Waikato Medical Research Foundation grant applications available

Waikato | Clinical | Management | 20/08/2024

The Waikato Medical Research Foundation exists to support and encourage research within the Waikato region and to assist in the publication of the results of this research. The Foundation invites research proposals that are related to health and medical topics and particularly encourages early career researchers to apply.

Two grant rounds are held each year: 1 March - 30 April and 1 September - 31 October.

The Grants Committee pays close attention to:

  • aims of the research
  • methodology and research design used
  • sampling methods, size and statistical methods
  • contribution to knowledge
  • Māori health advancement and responsiveness
  • research impact in the Waikato region.

The Foundation awards grants that contribute to the overall costs of the research project but do not fund overheads nor profit. Grant applications of up to $50,000 are welcomed.

Visit the Waikato Medical Research Foundation website to apply for more information.

This should specify the condition the medication is treating and any funded alternatives that have been tried. By providing this information upfront, Work and Income can expedite the process and reduce the need for follow-up requests.
