This planned mobile phone outage is to allow contractors to perform a network upgrade on the cell phone tower at the hospital. This will affect all hospital providers’ mobile phones including 3G, 4G and 5G devices (voice, data and SMS), as well as wireless broadband and fixed wireless.
This mobile phone outage will impact on all indoor/ in-building coverage on the hospital campus and also impact the hospital's ability to receive phone calls to mobile phones for the duration of the outage.
The three hour time frame has been given as a maximum period of time hospital staff can expect their networks to be affected. They hope services will resume earlier in the afternoon.
