Physiotherapy service: Hauraki region

Waikato | Musculoskeletal | Respiratory | Over 18

Overview

This service comprises three fully funded sessions delivered by Thames Physiotherapy Clinic who have clinics in Thames, Coromandel Town, Whitianga, Ngatea, Paeroa, Pauanui and Tairua.

This is funded under the CPCT programme and is funded until 30 June 2026.

This is a referral service only. It is not a claimable service. 

This is NOT a clinical guideline. 

Details

Which practices can claim for this service?

Any practice within the Hauraki region.

Who is eligible for the service?

Patients aged over 18 who are eligible for publicly funded care AND are one or more of the following:

  • Māori 
  • Pasifika 
  • CSC holders 
  • tangata whaikaha

AND

who have been assessed and identified as amenable to non-surgical management.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • patients with acute or chronic pain 
  • patients needing support with post-operative recovery (not covered by PINC)
  • patients with respiratory conditions who would benefit from physiotherapy
  • patients needing support post-stroke or other neurological conditions
  • patients who are unenrolled in a general practice.

Patients funded under ACC are not eligible for this service.

Patients funded under ACC are not eligible for this service.

Referral guidelines

This is not a claimable service; this is a free service that you can refer patients to.

Practices are required to submit an e-Referral requesting a package of care for their patient. 

Within BPAC search Community Services (HPHO) Physiotherapy service - Hauraki region.

 

What level of clinical notes do I need to submit?

On the clinical details tab please include duration of symptoms, treatment to date, imaging results and any other relevant information.

Does the patient have to pay?

No. There is no charge to the patients for this referral service. 

How the service is funded?

The service is funded by Te Whatu Ora as part of the CPCT service.
