HIV prophylaxis

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a daily oral tablet that, when taken as prescribed, can greatly reduce HIV infections as part of a combination prevention strategy. This programme provides funding for patients who meet the Ministry of Health Special Authority for PreP and must be delivered by a GP who meets the minimum education requirements.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. Early detection of persistent HPV infections through HPV Primary Screening, in addition to HPV vaccination efforts, is intended to help the country meet its goal of eliminating cervical cancer.
