This interactive course, designed and run by a clinical physiologist, provides both presentation and hands on opportunities to learn more about spirometry, understand the international guidelines for the performance of quality spirometry and develop both your skills and confidence in maintaining and using your spirometer.
This course follows ATS/ERS guidelines. A certificate will be provided if the participant has attended the full course, has completed the exam satisfactorily, submits a portfolio and 10 spirometry test results for auditing purposes.
Cost includes: Certificate of Competency*, resource manual, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
*To gain a competency certificate from Asthma Waikato everyone who attends the course will be expected to submit at least ten test results for auditing purposes, along with a calibration log and biological control log. Attending the two-day course also offers each person a point of contact for troubleshooting and support. The certification is valid for 2 years from the date on the certificate.
