Pinnacle is pleased to offer three opportunities to attend this interactive study session (all sessions cover the same content - you only need to attend one). We’ve partnered with and funded the Heart Foundation Team to deliver these workshops in Waikato for you and your teams.
This session focuses on primary cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk assessment and management.
We’ll also touch on secondary prevention, highlighting why triple therapy is important.
Each session will cover the following kōrero.
Overview of primary prevention equations and PREDICT.
Gaps in CVD risk assessment – including people with other risk factors and those with serious mental illness.
Blood pressure: New international classifications, targets, and management.
Lipids: Guidance, targets, and management.
Aspirin guidance.
Importance of shared decision-making and the role of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Resources and suggestions to support patient engagement.
(Usually time for two breakouts per session)
Primary prevention case studies.
Secondary prevention case studies.
+/- blood pressure scenarios.
+/- cholesterol scenarios.
