Te Whatu Ora has made a number of changes to immunisation funding within the PHOSA as part of the 1 July 25 annual uplift contract variation.
These include:
Uplift to immunisation rates
You will be able to claim the new rates for standard immunisations and influenza from 1 July 2025.
Co-administration fee
Due to the need for more substantive system changes, the implementation of the standard co-administration fee will take more time to implement.
Until the required changes are made, to both Te Whatu Ora Health NZ payment systems and your PMS system, please continue to claim for any immunisations given in the same way you did prior to 1 July 2025 until Te Whatu Ora and your PMS vendor advise all the system changes are complete.
Te Whatu Ora Health NZ will recognise your entitlement to the funding from 1 July 2025, and once the system changes are in place, they will calculate your backdated entitlement from your claim information and will pay the full amount owed under the new rules from 1 July 2025.
COVID administration
System changes are also required to incorporate COVID administration into the PHO services agreement. Te Whatu Ora has extended the existing standalone COVID contracts with PHOs and practices to accommodate for this delay.
Please continue to claim for COVID administration under your standalone contract until Te Whatu Ora notify you of the transition date to the PHO services agreement.
If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact Te Whatu Ora at primary.care@tewhatuora.govt.nz.
