Te Kotahi Oranga is a new student-assisted clinic based at Wintec, Rotokauri. The clinic is founded on strong collaborative community partnerships and extensive research, and seeks to provide high quality, evidence-based health intervention using a low or no-cost model to a high health needs community.

The kaupapa of Te Kotahi Oranga is centered on being recognised as ‘part of the solution’ in regard to healthcare in Aotearoa, and was established in response to the following factors.
With a strong interprofessional focus, Te Kotahi Oranga offers practical learning placements that brings the students studying the health and exercise disciplines together under one roof to work as an interprofessional team, to offer the following to the community that we serve.
Referrals are accepted from all health providers, community workers and clients/whānau or their families can also refer themselves. Direct referrals can now be made via tekotahioranga.itsmyhealth.nz.
Te Kotahi Oranga are looking for referrals in the areas of:
Once Te Kotahi Oranga receive your referral, they will contact your client/whānau and book them in with their leading team member and supporting students for a full assessment.
From there, the Te Kotahi Oranga interprofessional team will establish a plan to address these needs, in consultation with the client/whānau. All student care is supervised by their registered nurse, as well as other registered professionals working in conjunction with the clinic. Te Kotahi Oranga will also seek sign-off from the client/whānau GP before any interventions, including exercise programs, are undertaken.

Following assessment and establishment of a plan, Te Kotahi Oranga will provide information back to you as the client/whānau GP or referring entity. They will keep the referrer and GP informed as reassessments are made or GP input is required. Client consent will be obtained in all instances
