Family Planning is a specialist provider of clinical training for nurses, midwives and doctors offering online and in-person courses covering cervical screening, contraception, STIs and general sexual and reproductive health.
This is available training and not a compulsory requirement.
The Family Planning National Contraception Training Service will run online training in Contraception Counselling and online and practical training, Intra-uterine Contraception and Contraceptive Implants.
Family Planning online courses are now available and the NCTS Trainer and Assessor online course will be released in February 2021. Practical training commences from mid-February 2021. Please select the NCTS Training Pathway to follow the options available for training. The NCTS Trainer Pathway (if you've been selected to be a trainer by your DHB) is coming soon.
Family Planning has developed a suite of Frequently Asked Questions about the NCTS programme. If you are not currently wait-listed for training, contact your Funding and Planning Manager at your regional DHB, or submit your expression of interest.

Family Planning's health promotion teams deliver courses on all aspects of sexual and reproductive health and relationships. They offer courses suitable for teachers and support staff, guidance counsellors, school nurses, carers, social workers, and others working with young people.
