Ko Awatea LEARN is an initiative that provides access to an e-learning platform for nurses, and in Taranaki also for GPs. A number of Te Whatu Ora regions have partnered to use Ko Awatea as their online learning centre.
Ko Awatea LEARN allows nurses to access courses used across a number of Te Whatu Ora regions; enhancing national participation and collaboration.
Please email the following information to learningdevelopmenthr@waikatodhb.health.nz.
Note: You must have a separate email address for each nurse (e.g. cannot be nurses@practicename.co.nz) but it can be: amy@meadow.co.nz; ben@meadow.co.nz.
Once you have been set up in the system, you will be notified and can follow the directions to access the system and set up your own learning.
Some larger practices are now being added as 'site partners' and can set up their own accounts using their work email. This is a new way of working that will hopefully make things easier (less manual account setups), however, focus is on the larger practices first. Therefore, people should still send through their details as they have been, but they may get a reply saying they can do it themselves.
Te Whatu Ora Taranaki has agreed to fund access to Ko Awatea LEARN for all primary care clinicians. A number of Te Whatu Ora regions have allowed access to their education and protocols via this site, so you will have a variety of other Te Whatu Ora resources to access and choose from, including Te Whatu Ora Taranaki.
Your practice manager has all relevant information on the consent and registration process and will assist you to get set up.
You have access to Te Whatu Ora Lakes resources which are on Ko Awatea LEARN. Each nurse who wants to use any site resources, needs to send the following information to Rachel Wainoho.
Once you have been set up in the system, you will be notified and can follow the directions to access the system and set up your learning.
