Pinnacle Practice Portal

Published: 15/04/2026

All Pinnacle practices can now use the new Practice Portal — a secure, easy-to-use hub for claims, remittance reports, payment files, and sharing documents, designed to save time and give you clearer oversight.

What this means for your practice

  • Each nominated user has received a separate email with their login credentials and instructions for accessing the portal.
  • This email includes guidance on first-time login and multi-factor authentication.
  • User guides and a training video are available under the Help menu within the portal, to support you every step of the way.

Current data status

  • Primary Options data from the past three years is available.
  • Non-indici practices: please note there is a one-month delay in Primary Options claims visibility due to the post-payment migration process.

Updates

Capitation remittances

In response to practice feedback, the updated capitation remittance format has now been implemented, and column totals are included.

Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) as an alternative to Verification PIN via email

An additional layer of security is required to protect access to the platform and aligns with best‑practice security standards. However, following practice feedback regarding the delays in receiving the PIN via email, our platform provider is developing a Microsoft Authenticator MFA option, with release planned for June 2026. We will share more information once the release date is confirmed.

In the interim, an optional SMS PIN login method is available for practices wanting a faster login experience, but standard SMS charges would apply.  If you would like to enable this option, please contact practice.support@pinnacle.health.nz.

Payment and remittance documents

All payment and remittance files will now be available in the Practice Portal on the same day payments are processed by our finance team. Thank you for your feedback on the importance of timely access to these files — it directly informed this improvement. Following is the typical monthly schedule for payment file uploads.

  • Project and Primary Options (POAC) claims remittance reports – 5th of month (or next business day).
  • Capitation remittances – 19th of month (or next business day).
  • Any other monthly or quarterly payment advices – 20th of month (or next business day).

Please note, if files are provided earlier, they will be uploaded earlier. Scheduled dates will shift to the next business day when they fall on a weekend or public holiday.

Thank you for investing your time to help us improve the portal. Your feedback directly shapes how we support your practice operations.

What is the Pinnacle Practice Portal?

The Pinnacle Practice Portal has now been rolled out to all Pinnacle practices, following a successful pilot with seven nominated practices.

This new platform has been developed in response to your feedback. It is part of our ongoing commitment to support practices with tools that offer transparency, ease of access, and streamlined communication.

The Pinnacle Practice Portal is a secure, centralised platform designed to help Pinnacle practices with the following.

  • View the current status of PHO claims.
  • Reconcile payments more efficiently.
  • Access and download remittance reports and other payment files (e.g. Capitation, Quality Improvement Programme) in one place.
  • Upload documents securely to share with Pinnacle.
  • View claims for Stop Smoking and Support to Screening services (if applicable to your practice).
  • Following valuable feedback from practices we have added a Service Provider filter to improve searching and reporting, to ensure a smoother experience for all practices.
