This year, a new six-week immunisation performance-based funding measure has been introduced as part of the 2025/2026 primary care immunisation performance measures for Pinnacle practices. Since the announcement, we’ve been working with Te Whatu Ora to validate data and ensure practices will have clear visibility of their performance and funding received.
Te Whatu Ora has now provided practice baseline data for all practices to PHOs. This data was provided to your practice via the new Pinnacle Portal and will give a sense of what’s required over the coming year to achieve a full performance payment.
This Te Whatu Ora updated information sheet outlines the 2025/26 primary care immunisation performance measures, designed to support achievement of the national immunisation target. The resource helps practices understand the performance framework, expectations and claiming process.
For each quarter, we’ve established a process to ensure AIR NHI level data is checked and validated against PMS data, errors are appealed with Te Whatu Ora, and that we work directly with practices to resolve any messaging issues. So far, data errors have been minimal, but we will continue to monitor closely for data discrepancies and work proactively with you to correct these.
We expect to receive your Q1 practice performance results from Te Whatu Ora on Friday 24 October.
We’re developing a dashboard to provide clear, transparent insights into six-week immunisation practice performance and funding. We’ll provide an update on the completion timeline and release of this dashboard once Q1 data is available from Te Whatu Ora.
Te Whatu Ora has provided PHOs with the following reporting and payment timeframes in the table below. Pinnacle will endeavour to make payments to practices on the 20th of the month that we receive the payment from Te Whatu Ora.
If you have any questions regarding the six-week immunisation performance measure or the information above, please don’t hesitate to contact your development manager.
